Designer Lydianne Morency initially set out on the task to highlight women’s natural curves and femininity in her designs, while combining fashion with comfort. From this passion, Vilaine was born. Clients have commented on how Vilaine allows them to build a quality, interchangeable wardrobe that is timeless. Several clients have commented that wearing Vilaine is like wearing a second skin.

In her quality, she follows the teachings of her mother and grandmother, who mentored her from a young age. Lydianne started by sewing and creating clothing for her dolls under these keen eyes and supervision. With Lydianne’s drive and ambition to create, she presented her first ready to wear collection at the end of secondary school. She then enrolled in a 3 year program in a Quebec fashion school.

During her studies she received multiple awards and recognition for her designs and natural entrepreneurial abilities.

She was awarded the honour of immersing herself into the fashion world under the direct supervision and mentorship of a well known designer in Paris.

After fashion school Lydianne started the concept of her business plan and Vilaine was born. Her first workshop was located in Quebec submerged in the environment of an old heritage church building transformed into a centre for arts, housing a variety of different artists.

Lydianne has given back to her community as a mentor for young students who would like some input in starting their own businesses. She has been requested by students who would like to apprentice under her guidance.

Lydianne now lives with her family in Vancouver, BC where she designs and creates daily. She has her collection in a couple local locations, an active website and maintains her workshop and store in Quebec.

For Lydianne Morency, it’s very simple; life is fleeting, live in the present, wear things that make you feel elegant, pretty, unique and confident.
